Ripley, the county seat of Jackson Co., proudly claims to be the home of the "Biggest Small Town Fourth of July Celebration in America." Cedar Lakes located near Ripley, is perhaps best known as the home of the Mountain State Art & Craft Fair each summer. The four-day event is considered to be one of the best outdoor craft festivals in the country. Ravenswood is situated on the Ohio River just north of the famous river bend. Ravenswood's Riverfront Park is located along the banks of the Ohio River and Sandy Creek. The City offers recreational activities for the whole family such as tennis, swimming, volleyball, outdoor basketball, baseball, a playground designed for children from toddler to the age of twelve, and a beautiful senior center equipped with a shallow, indoor swimming pool.
